- Women who like to eat non-vegetarian during pregnancy, make sure that everything is cooked well.
- Women, who are interested in gardening work, make sure to wear gloves.
- Stay away from pets, especially cat and dog litter.
Also, pregnant women should be very cautious about some food born diseases, such as listeriosis, toxoplasmosis and salmonella during their pregnancy week 5. These diseases may lead to miscarriage or birth defects, so knowing which type of foods to avoid are very much essential during this period.
Some foods should be avoided by a 5 weeks pregnant woman include: pate, raw fish, raw egg (foods prepared with raw egg), soft cheeses, raw and half cooked meats such as deli meats and hot dogs.
